Welcome! Below is last year’s (2017) plan. Stay tuned for this year (July 10-13, 2018) coming soon.

Tues. afternoon/evening (Day 1) July 11th

3:00PMThe Globe Theater – check in and welcome reception at Santa Barbara Jr. High School’s “Globe Theater” adjoining the Marjorie Luke Theatre.

4:30PM- Instructors will be introduced and will discuss the schedule and all classes planned for the three day workshop including Improvisation, Combos, Master classes and Big Band. They will also discuss the breakdown of levels of classes -beginning, intermediate and advanced.

5:00- The faculty combo will play a short set as part of the welcome reception.

6:00PM- We will walk or drive the short distance to Santa Barbara’s legendary Italian restaurant Arnoldi’s, for dinner and a hang to get better acquainted. dinner our first night at Arnoldi’s will be a “no-host” event.

 

Wed. (Day 2) July 12th & Thurs. (Day 3) July 13th

9:00AM – 4:00PM- We will all meet for our regular classes in the historic Marjorie Luke Theatre. We will use the stage plus 3 additional smaller break-out rooms within the theater for all classes.

4:30PM- We relocate a short distance away at SoHo Restaurant and Music Club where we  will have a jam session (students sitting in with the faculty), a hang, refreshments and dinner. We will conclude the Wednesday and Thursday sessions at SoHo at around 6:30PM.

 

Fri. (Day 4) July 14th

There will be regular class schedules 9:00AM until 4:00PM at the Luke Theatre, but at SOhO Music Club, activity will start a bit later. Dinner plus performances with the student  combos and the Big Band will be open to the public and performed on the SOhO stage!

5:00PM dinner, Concerts 6:00PM until 8 PM (end of workshop & farewells)
